Useful for those of us who are looking for tasty, healthy meals
Raising one's metabolic rate is not just about increasing energy levels - it's also about getting runaway weight gain under control, which is important for those of us who are over the age of forty and are watching our bodies slow down, whether we want to slow down or not. A healthy diet that emphasizes slow carbs, lean meats, adequate hydration, and adequate calories to support exercise is easier for many of us to sustain than other forms of dieting, so this cookbook is welcome.
Some of the recipes in here would be easy to use for a slow burn during an intermittent fast, although for the most part, the book assumes a "grazing" habit. Adding almond butter and almond milk to steel-cut porridge oats is one way to make breakfast last. Whole-grain, protein-packed pancakes can be topped with fruit. Then there's the lentil scramble. Yummy! The fish and poultry dinners would be good reheat-and-eat breakfasts, for that matter.
I can't wait to try these recipes out!
