HOSHANHO Bread Knife 8 inch, Ultra Sharp Japanese Serrated Bread Knife

My wife has been baking artisan and sour dough bread for some time. We have always sliced the bread with an inexpensive serrated knife. It works, but not ideal. We recently got a bread slicing box, and to use it, we needed a longer knife, so we took this opportunity to get a nice bread knife.

This knife has met all our expectations. It is very sharp and quickly cuts through hard crusted breads. The 10" length works great on the large round loaves of bread too, and fits well in the bread slicing box. The wood handle is beautiful, and very well finished, and fits very nicely in my hand, making it easy to grip. It really does look like a very nice bread knife, so I am hopeful that it will last as long as the knives in my expensive cutlery set.

It’s not a true dual edge blade but the angle and serrations are thin enough to cut through days old hard crust sourdough loaf easily and thin cut pieces. I am very happy with that outcome. Will run it through its paces. I just received it this afternoon.

If you need a good bread knife, this is it. If you’re looking for something that brings enlightenment and parts the seas, this ain’t it. It’s a high quality knife, but there isn’t much more to say.
