A game-changing headlamp. Now, all that's needed is support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Reviewed in the United States on November 17, 2025 · Verified Purchase

It's been a very long time since I've been so completely captivated with and blown away by a product. I don't write reviews often, but I am always willing to commend a product, service, or company on a job well done. In a world that seems to have become saturated with bland "solutions" to manufactured problems and stale products, it is becoming increasingly uncommon to encounter something that catches you completely off guard with how good it truly is and simply say, "Wow."

For the last several years, I've been using a precursor to this product design with outstanding results in two vehicles; the predecessor being a "switchback" design that jumps between two colours when turned on and off: cool white and amber yellow. When I initially purchased those fog lamps, I remember being equally impressed at their ability to switch colours on the fly. When it came time to install a set of fog lamps in a new vehicle, I found these: the latest-generation revision to my favourite headlamps. I have been consistently impressed with Fahren Termitor's products as I have them installed wherever applicable in my vehicles, so I had equally high expectations for these. What I wasn't anticipating, though, was just how far these fog lamps would exceed those already high expectations. Straight out of the box, these fog lamps impressed in both build quality and design. They're built to a seemingly industrial-grade level of quality; the whole package feels more akin to a durable, luxurious good rather than an automotive lighting component. Installation was a breeze, and the integrated CANBUS decoder on each light is a welcomed feature.

It's when you turn these lights on, though, that they *really* start to shine--pun intended. Immediately, I was impressed by the brightness and clarity of their vibrant luminescence. That was before I even opened the app which was, itself, my single greatest source of apprehension in making this upgrade. I was elated to learn that the majority of my concerns regarding the app were short-lived; however, that's not to say that the app is completely without fault.

Establishing a connection between my Android phone and two fog lamps proved to be a quick and seamless process; at least, initially. Upon first launch, the app almost immediately recognised both fog lamps and established a surprisingly stable connection. I tapped one of the built-in lighting presets, and the fog lamps responded to my touch with minimal latency; almost, but not quite, appearing to respond to real-time input. It was in this moment that I really began to be blown away by the performance of the whole package--and then realise its potential. Being able to variably configure colour, brightness, and everything in-between of your lights in real-time and on the fly is GENUINELY a game-changer. I cannot emphasise how impressive this functionality is, and how seamlessly executed its implementation is, especially for a first-generation release--at least, I'm not aware of any other product currently on the market that's either competing with this or frankly anywhere near this good.

With all of that being said, the app does have some incidental quirks that I would like to see ironed out through software patches. For whatever reason, the app will only establish a secure connection to the lights after being force closed and reopened, or from a first-time connection after a long period of nonuse. It struggles to stay connected or reconnect if I swipe home or out of the app then jump back into it. Admittedly, this is only an issue when app usage is disrupted for whatever reason, and it has no bearing on how well it works when connected.

The next thing that I would like to see is Android Auto/Apple CarPlay support, and preferably soon. As one might well imagine, controlling a car's headlights through a smartphone app might be a brilliant first step and all, but it comes with certain safety concerns. Sure, it might be wishful thinking to assume that everyone will simply pick a colour shade before setting off to drive, or that every person who buys these will pull off to the side of the road to change the light settings; however, these wishes are neither practical or pragmatic approaches, and at the end of the day, are exactly that--wishful thinking. Regardless of whether or not all safety protocols are heeded, they still defeat the very solution that these lights were created to solve--dynamically responsive lighting that can be adapted to changing road conditions. Other non-app switchback lights can be controlled by switching the fog lamps on and off; however, this is not a practical approach for more than two shades of light. My proposed solution addresses all of these concerns; it is simply to release an update to the app which supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Control over the lights is fully retained, and it becomes fully integrated into the infotainment system on vehicles with which Android Auto/Apple CarPlay is equipped. To me, this is would be a resounding boon across the board which would give users a focused way to control these lights hands-free.

All things considered, though, these are minor quibbles with an otherwise incredible product and all-new product category. These are extremely impressive headlamps and I am excited to see what's next in store. I can't recommend them enough and, with a few quality of life updates, they'd be pretty much perfect.

Versatile. Well Built. Convenient. Awesome support.

This is hands down the best LED lights I have ever had on a car in my life. I am glad I found these Termitor LEDs, however, I wish I had found them much sooner. The light pattern is very neat, almost looks like if my reflector headlights were projectors, they produce a very defined pattern with almost no aberrations. Each LED has a mini cover that prevents you from blinding other drivers and the cut they project on the road is very sharp. The build quality is impressive, they feel well crafted. Installation was easy, I don't know any mechanics and I was able to install them myself. The app connected seamlessly to the lights, the options are just what you need and are conveniently placed. I have an off-road car which I use to drive in the city, but also to visit my parents on the mountain they live in and this lights let me configure a soft white light to drive on the city, but also a stronger yellow light to drive off-road on bad conditions. Versatile is the word I use to describe them better. I connected the lights to the stereo con my car, so it looks like the options were OEM and my family and friends were amazed by the ability to change the color and intensity as needed. I also want to remark on the awesome support this brand brings. When I installed the lights, they had a little flickering, but this was because of my car and was my fault because I didn't do any research about this before: turns out my car has some sensor which detected the difference on the voltage (LEDs consume far less energy). I contacted support and I received an answer within minutes, I had never seen anything like that. Anyways, they recommended a decoder to solve that issue and even offered to reimburse the cost of the decoder if it didn't solve my issue. The solution they gave me solved my problem and now I am enjoying the product and will definitely buy again from them.

Great lights switchable via app for brightness and white to yellow

Reviewed in the United States on August 28, 2026 · Size: 9005/HB3 · Verified Purchase

I ordered these LED from Fahren recently for 2015 Honda Civic. I installed drivers side first and tested and it worked. Then passenger side and initially it didn't work. I then read the instructions and flipped the plug around and reconnected it and then it worked. I let them stay on for low beam not on high beam and they started to flicker. I ordered the canbus decoder and installed that item as well and now the lights work perfectly. Ive never had lights I can switch with an app with brightness and between bright white to yellow. Ive been happy with Fahren in the past and still pleased! Customer service also helped me out with flicker option and ordering canbus decoder. So if you have any issues reach out to them. I hope this helps anyone on the fence.

Love that these allow color change from phone app. Don't mess with it often, but on really foggy mornings the more yellow color temp does help cut the glare-back

    Bright and customizable

Reviewed in the United States on January 10, 2026 · Verified Purchase

Very bright. Fun and customizable. Quality packaging too. App is easy to use. Very useful to adjust the white and yellow balance for different weather conditions. Install was mostly straightforward. For my passenger side low-beam, I had to adjust the orientation of the led’s but the instructions are clear. It took a few attempts to get right but not a deal-breaker at all. For those who have no mechanical skills, this part would probably suck. Would be 5-stars except for that they do flicker occasionally on my 25 Silverado Custom. I’m still trying to track down what causes it. It happens every time I’m leaving my driveway, but not upon startup. But not entering my driveway, but right as I’m at the very end of my garage, about to put it in park. So, just like all flickering, it has something to do with the variance in power input of the bulb and the power output originally designed for the halogens. But I understand that these are “universal” and are designed to work for most applications. The flickering isn’t noticeable when driving though.

Excellent beam and ability to have 5000k color!

Reviewed in the United States on October 23, 2026 · Size: H7 · Verified Purchase

These were just what I was looking for! I bought a pair of 2013/2014 F150 projector headlights (factory clones) that have H7 leds installed. They were 6000k and not very good. I bought these for the ability to choose 5000k color and they are perfect! Very good foreground and excellent distance. Cut off on my projectors is very crisp and the app worked perfect. I was able to adjust the lights and they stay at that adjustment when I turn off the app and stay there when restarted. Very nice lights! For a 2012 Ford F150 Raptor you will need decoders. Customer service was excellent helping me diagnose it and knew exactly what was needed.

Best LED bulbs in the market right now

Reviewed in the United States on November 6, 2025 · Verified Purchase

    Highly Recommend !

With so many choices and options available these days, these LED headlight bulbs stand out from the rest. Primarily dur to the following features and functionalities:

    1. Brightness - The bulbs are truly bright. can be as white as 6000k.

    2. Area coverage - the light spectrum has a widespread flood angle of 175 degrees (out of the maximum of 180 degrees)

    3. Functionality - I have tried at least 6 other brands and none of them is able to display the high beam. However, these newest Fahren bulbs execute the highbeams with ease and flawlessly.

    4. Ease of installation - even with me being very cautious and deliberate, it took me less than 10 minutes to complete the installation for both bulbs.

    5. The most significant is its new feature whereby the LED lights can be connected to your phone thru an App . You can control both the color spectrum (from very yellow to bright white) and the level of brightness (from barely dim to ultra bright). you can also mix and match any combination to your liking. I personally enjoy making these adjustments in the car when I am stopped at an intersection or traffic light. Quick and easy.

I strongly recommend based on its light quality, multiple functions and impressive remote light adjustment feature.

Better Usable Light beats "Paper Lumens" – Great for Aging Eyes (UPDATE after 3 weeks)

Reviewed in the United States on March 5, 2026 · Size: H11/H8/H9 · Verified Purchase

I’ll be honest: I don't usually go for "gimmicky" car tech. I was hesitant to buy these because, with aging eyes, I prioritize safety and visibility over features. I previously ran Novasight N60 LEDs, which were phenomenally bright, but the 6500K color temperature was exhausting. The blue-white glare off the road caused significant eye fatigue.

I searched for high-quality 4300K–5000K LEDs, but most were over $200. I was willing to pay that for safety, but I decided to give these Terminator smart bulbs a shot first. This is not a gimmick; it actually works.

    Installation & App

The H11 bulbs fit perfectly. Syncing to the app was flawless and took only seconds. While I personally have no use for the dimming feature (I want 100% brightness at all times), the color temperature adjustment is where these shine.

    The "Sweet Spot" for Visibility

I found my perfect setting at 100% brightness and roughly 80% on the color slider (approx. 5000K).

I did a side-by-side test in a dark parking area:

At 6500K, the light felt "harsh" but provided less usable detail.

At 5000K, which is closer to natural sunlight, my eyes could relax.

It’s an interesting physiological fact: our brains have to work harder to calculate contrast with blue-heavy 6500K light. Dropping to 5000K provided much better usable light and depth perception.

The Reality Check (Brightness & Lumens)

A quick note to Fahren: Please be more accurate with your specs. The 90,000-lumen claim is pure fiction, and nobody is going to believe it. These are nowhere near as bright as my old N60s. However, because the light spectrum is better, the "usable" light is excellent for the price.

    Pros:

    - Flawless app connectivity.

    - Highly adjustable color temperature to reduce eye strain.

    - Excellent value compared to high-end fixed-spectrum bulbs.

    Cons:

    - Exaggerated lumen claims.

    - Not the brightest on the market, though sufficient.

Bottom Line: If you struggle with the glare of modern "cool white" LEDs, these are a fantastic solution. I'll need a few months to judge long-term durability, but for now, they are a keeper.

Update after 3 weeks – Fog Light Use

After some additional testing, I realized that these bulbs were not bright enough for my main headlights. However, I installed them in the fog lights on a different vehicle that uses the H11 socket, and the difference was noticeable: they were much brighter and performed far better in this application.

The app is now even more useful because I can keep the lights at the 5000K range for clear visibility and wide illumination when the weather is good, and easily dial them down to a warmer yellow (around 3000K–3500K) during rain, fog, or snow. Adjusting between these settings is very simple and intuitive.

I’m keeping my rating at four stars because, while they work exceptionally well as fog lights, I would strongly discourage using these as main headlights. They lack the brightness and clarity needed for projector lenses. That said, the concept is excellent — this is clearly the first iteration of this kind of smart bulb, and the execution is solid. I believe the technology will improve in future versions, and this could evolve into a viable main headlight solution.

I hope this helps other buyers understand the best way to use these bulbs for both safety and visibility.
