The Two Independent Baskets Make This So Much More Useful Than a Regular Air Fryer

Reviewed in the United States on September 18, 2026 · Style: 10-QT (2026 Release)

This is easily one of the most useful air fryers I've used. What really sets it apart for me is having two separate baskets instead of one large cooking area. Each side operates independently, so I can put completely different foods in the two baskets and cook them at different temperatures and with different settings. That makes this much more useful for actually preparing a meal rather than just cooking one item at a time.

For example, I can have something cooking in one basket using the Air Fry setting while using Roast or Bake in the other basket. Each side can have its own temperature and cooking time, so I'm not trying to find one temperature that sort of works for both foods. I can cook each item the way it should be cooked, which is exactly what I wanted from a dual-basket air fryer.

The Smart Finish feature is probably one of my favorite parts. If one food needs considerably longer than the other, I can set up both sides and have the air fryer manage the timing so they finish together. Anyone who has ever finished one part of dinner and then waited another ten minutes for the other part will appreciate that. When I'm cooking the same thing in both baskets, Match Cook makes it just as easy to use the same settings on both sides.

I also really like having two smaller baskets rather than one enormous basket. They're easier to handle, and I can shake or check one food without disturbing whatever is cooking on the other side. At the same time, having both baskets gives me plenty of total capacity when I'm cooking a larger amount of food. It really gives me the best of both worlds.

The six cooking functions also mean I've been able to use it for much more than french fries and the other things people traditionally associate with an air fryer. Air Fry, Air Broil, Roast, Bake, Reheat, and Dehydrate give me plenty of options. Reheating leftovers in an air fryer has become one of my favorite uses because so many foods come out much better than they do from a microwave.

Cleanup is also easier than I expected for something this size. The baskets come out individually, so I'm only dealing with one manageable piece at a time, and the removable crisper plates make cleaning the bottoms much easier. That's important to me because an appliance can cook wonderfully, but if it's a major project to clean afterward, I'm eventually going to stop using it.

I'm extremely impressed with this Ninja. The ability to cook two completely different foods, using two different cooking methods, temperatures, and times, and still have them ready together, is what makes it so useful. It takes something I already liked about air fryers and solves one of their biggest limitations. Instead of planning dinner around what will fit in one basket and what needs to cook first, I can actually use this to prepare multiple parts of the meal at the same time. This one is definitely staying on our kitchen counter.

    Excellent cooking, but loud

Reviewed in the United States on October 20, 2026 · Style: 10-QT (2026 Release) · Verified Purchase

I love how large this air fryer is. Food cooks faster and more evenly than in any other air fryer I’ve owned. For cooking and performance alone, it’s a 5-star appliance.

I’m removing one star because of the noise. It’s louder than any other appliance in my kitchen, and I find myself raising my voice to talk over it. I measured 68 decibels standing 2 feet in front of it, which is louder than normal conversation (about 65 decibels).

If noise doesn’t bother you, this is a great fryer. If you have an open kitchen or like to chat while you cook, keep this in mind.

Love the Rectangular Baskets and Smart Finish Feature!

Reviewed in the United States on October 9, 2026 · Style: 10-QT (2026 Release)

Love the Rectangular Baskets and Smart Finish Feature!

Ninja is a brand I consistently find myself coming back to, and this Dualzone air fryer is another great example of why! I've been really happy with the design and functionality, especially compared to more traditional air fryers with a single square basket.

One of my favorite things about this model is the shape of the baskets. They're longer and more rectangular rather than square, which I find much more practical for everyday cooking. I don't have to cut food into smaller pieces nearly as often just to make everything fit. Having two separate baskets also gives me a lot more flexibility when preparing different foods.

The Smart Finish feature is another huge selling point for me. Being able to cook two different foods at different temperatures and times while having them finish together is incredibly convenient. I don't have to worry about one part of dinner getting cold while I'm waiting for the other to finish. It's especially nice when preparing a complete meal rather than just reheating a snack or making a side dish.

I've actually found that I can prepare an entire meal using this air fryer instead of having several different appliances or pans going on the countertop at once. That makes cooking feel much more manageable, and I appreciate having fewer things to juggle and clean afterward. The separate cooking zones are also helpful because I can adjust each side independently depending on what I'm making.

The 10-quart capacity is generous, although the appliance itself does take up a fair amount of counter space. The baskets and removable crisper plates are designed to be easy to clean, which is another practical advantage for regular use.

At around $220, this is definitely an investment compared to a basic air fryer. However, I think the dual baskets, generous capacity, and Smart Finish technology make it worth considering, especially if you cook full meals regularly. It's a versatile appliance that can replace several steps in my usual cooking routine, and that's where I find the most value.

Overall, I'm very happy with this Ninja air fryer. The rectangular baskets and synchronized cooking are genuinely useful features rather than just gimmicks, and I can see this getting a lot of use in my kitchen!

This Ninja DualZone Air Fryer is perfect for us

Reviewed in the United States on September 6, 2026 · Style: 10-QT (2026 Release)

We love our new " Ninja DualZone Air Fryer, 10 Qt, 6-in-1, Grey, DZ901 Air fry, roast, bake, broil, reheat, dehydrate, 2x5 Qt zones, Smart Finish, Match Cook". We've had air fryers since they first came out,but they have all been single action units, and they have met our needs, but we wanted more options. This new Ninja DualZone Air Fryer is what we wanted, and need. The two cooking compartments are the same size, so you can roast a chicken on one side and bake a potato casserole in the other side, or you can air fry onion rings on one side, and french fries in the other one. You can bake a cake in one side and an entree on the other. Both sides are independent of the other, they are two separate units and the food smells don't go between the units. I love that there is a broiler option to use when we want to grill pieces of salmon or chicken, and also melt cheese on top of air fried chicken Parmesan. You also have the option to have the contents of both units coordinate so they are ready to serve at the same time. I was surprised how fast potato puffs cooked, about half the time our previous air fryer took. I love having six different options with our new Ninja, I haven't tried dehydrating yet,but I have plans for making some healthy treats for us, and our dogs. The quality of the finish on the the entire unit is excellent, the cooking bins wash easily, and so far nothing sticks. I want to mention, unlike a number of other air fryers we have had that had a terrible smell when first turned on, and two that had a nasty smell for several months, this Ninja DualZone had/has absolutely no smell other than the aroma of the food that is cooking. The controls are very easy to use, I do have a bit of retraining myself to the faster cooking times but it's not a problem. The quality and value of this dual unit is excellent so far. I will update if any issues come up over time. This dual unit takes up a little more counter width than the old single unit, but it fits fine, 6" of air clearance is needed for the top and sides of this unit and that is not a problem either. When not in use we can slide it farther back on the counter and all is good. We have no complaints or wishes for other options, this Ninja DualZone Air Fryer is perfect for us. I would give this as a gift and buy another if needed.

2 Baskets, 2 Foods, 2 Temps, Done at the Same Time

Reviewed in the United States on October 12, 2026 · Style: 10-QT (2026 Release)

Air fryers are great, especially when you don’t want to turn on the big oven on a hot day. I’ve been using this air fryer for about a month now, and I really like it. My old Ninja only had one basket for food, so this is nice to be able to do two different foods at the same time and have them finish at the same time, instead of having to wait while you cook your second food. The baskets are smaller, so less fits in one basket, but there are two, and they do still hold a decent amount of food. Each basket has a 5Qt capacity, but the food you’re cooking will determine how much you can actually put in each basket, as some food says to put in a single layer. When I put more than a single layer, I just stir it about halfway through, or at several intervals depending on how much I put in a basket. Also, you can use just one basket, and it can be either one, but it defaults to basket 1. If you want to use basket 2 only, you just push the button for basket 2. It’s pretty simple and easy to use. It performs well: roasting, baking, air frying, etc. The food comes out tasting great. It’s a joy to use and clean up is easy. The baskets are dishwasher safe, but I always wash them by hand. It’s a decent value and it’s even better now than when I got it. If you’re looking for an air fryer, go ahead and give this one a try. You won’t be disappointed.

Love the larger size but they cut the quality on the interior racks?

Reviewed in the United States on October 19, 2026 · Style: 10-QT w/ probe (Grey)

We previously had purchased a smaller version of the dual zone Ninja Air Fryer, and loved it. Used it all the time. When the larger one came out, we use it so much we thought the extra space would be great. And so far it has been. We do everything from reheating pizza to air frying baked potatoes with a nice crisp oil rubbed skin; we've done pork tenderloins that we cut in half, chicken fingers, roasted veggies. I mean, we really get our use out of it. I've even tried hard boiled eggs in it!

The one thing that really surprised me is the rack in this one. Our previous model had super sturdy trays/racks that sat in each basket. We were a little disappointed by how flimsy the racks are that came in this newer model. They're very thin, which makes them appear warped. They don't sit flat, and the heat makes them flex easily. Kind of scratching my head as to why you would make a new and improved version but cut back on the quality of the rack? For that I deducted a star. Why cut the corner? It is on the pricier side of air fryers as well, coming in at $269.99 at the time of our order. It has a lot of functionality and ease of use to help back up the price, and Ninja has become a brand we trust, having owned many of their appliances, but still.

Everything else we love about this unit. The dial to adjust temp and time is fast and efficient. I was able to do a match cook without having to look up any directions, it's rather intuitive. We love that we can make things like baked potatoes without heating up the whole house. We live in southwest Florida, we pay enough to keep the house cool!

Easy To Use Air Fryer With Some Helpful Upgrades

Reviewed in the United States on September 10, 2026 · Style: 10-QT w/ probe (Grey)

The Ninja DualZone 10‑quart Smart Air Fryer arrived quickly and in perfect condition. I evaluated it directly against my long‑used Ninja Foodi Air Fryer to understand the mechanical differences, workflow changes, and real cooking performance.

Physically, the DZ950 occupies roughly 40% more footprint in both width and height. Despite the larger chassis, the unit is noticeably lighter, making it easier to move, store, or reposition on a shelf. The cooking volume, divided into two independent baskets, is roughly equivalent to the Foodi’s usable area, but the dual‑zone architecture changes how that space is utilized.

Unboxing is straightforward: no assembly required, clear instructions, and an intuitive control layout. The mode‑selection dial is a meaningful improvement over button‑cycling interfaces; quick to operate, easy to read, and paired with simple Zone 1 / Zone 2 controls. The integrated temperature probe storage is a practical upgrade; I’ve “cooked” two Foodi probes by storing them inside the chamber during preheat. This design eliminates that failure mode entirely.

In operation, the DZ950 reaches readiness faster than the Foodi. Actual cooking time and quality are comparable, with consistent browning and predictable results. Real‑world tests included reheating fast‑food subs, cooking a chicken breast in Zone 1 while running frozen fries in Zone 2, and using Match Cook to synchronize completion times. All tests performed as expected.

Cleanup is another strong point: fewer removable components and dishwasher‑safe baskets reduce post‑meal workload. The only notable omissions are the grilling plate and dual‑layer racks, which are sold separately. Because the 10‑quart capacity is distributed both vertically and horizontally, the racks are required to fully exploit the available volume.

For large-format items like a T‑bone steak, the Ninja Foodi still wins due to its wider cook area and included grill plate. However, for nearly all other daily tasks, the DZ950 is easier to use, faster to prep, and significantly easier to clean.

While priced slightly above comparable air fryers, Ninja’s reliability, build quality, and long product life justify the premium. Overall, it’s a high‑value upgrade for most cooking scenarios.
