Well, if you have never had a basset hound, then you wouldn't believe my five star review based on the photographs provided. However, believe it or not, this is his, "I can live with this" face. He truly loves this vest and so do I. Most vests don't fit right and so he freezes in a standing position, but as you can see, he is relaxes and calm, which is exactly what the was made for. It's soft, flexible, and made of good breathing material to keep warm enough during winter but not too warm for summer.

I would recommend this to anyone with a dog that has 4th of July firework anxiety or ANY other type of anxiety for that matter.

I have a German Shepard mix that has pretty high anxiety, especially while riding in a car. I got this vest to see if it helps him feel secure while riding. It fits well- a little confusing to put on, and if you have a squirmy dog, it may be a chore. The vest secures with Velcro, so you can cinch it tighter if you need to. The material has a jersey feel to it, has some stretch, but can still wrap it secure. We haven’t tested it on my pup yet for a longer car ride, but he takes pretty well to it. I’m also glad I have it on hand incase he’s afraid of thunderstorms (we’ve only had him for 6 months, and haven’t had any thunderstorms yet- but spring is right around the corner, and storms are coming)

This calming vest is well‑made and feels like a quality product right out of the package. The compression fit seems to genuinely help my older dog, who struggles with anxiety more as he ages. He settles faster and seems more at ease during stressful moments. The material is soft, the fit is comfortable, and it provides a nice sense of security without being bulky. It’s a nice option if you’re looking for something simple and effective to help soothe an anxious pup.

Two of my dogs get nervous so I thought I'd get this for when things are bad. We got to try it when we had heavy thunderstorms. I have not used a vest like this before, and I was surprised how thin the fabric is, and how stiff and thick the velcro parts are. I find the construction a bit complicated to get on a nervous dog and I was having some trouble getting it on. I think next time I would ask my husband for help so we can stretch the fabric and position the velcro better. But my dogs did not mind wearing it, so that's a plus (one is used to wearing coats for cold). They just did not like getting it on and off (velcro sound). We got XL for our mixes, I measured and followed the size chart, and the size is good. The price ($34.99 when I ordered) seems okay, but I think I'll go to a store to see some other vests in person to buy something again.

This vest is well made and the reflective trim is a nice feature. It runs slightly bigger than expected. I ordered the XL for my daughter's Retriever. She usually wears an XL, and this one fits with room to grow (though we hope not lol). She's an anxiety mess with sudden loud noises, fireworks and storms. Though we haven't had a storm or fireworks yet, she is wearing the vest for brief periods to get used to it. It's attractive and seems comfortable. We're hoping that the compression fit will replace wrapping her in a weighted blanket. Yesterday, we added it to her walk. Today, on her walk, a car backfired and she paused but didn't tremble - so at the least, this vest is helping to calm her. Having had several incidents when walking her (and she's too heavy to carry), just the calming effect makes this vest a bargain.

I really wanted this vest to work for my dog. The material feels soft and the overall construction seems decent, not flimsy or poorly stitched. It has a nice warmth to it without feeling heavy, and the fabric quality itself was not the issue.

The problem for us was the fit. Even after adjusting the straps, it did not look like the photos once it was on him. It bunched in certain areas and didn’t lay smoothly across his chest and back, so it never achieved that snug, even compression shown in the listing. Because the fit wasn’t quite right, it also didn’t provide the calming effect we were hoping for during storms. I can see how the concept could help some dogs, but it did not make a noticeable difference for ours. For the price, I expected a better fit and more consistent support it was not a good vale for the cost. We ended up purchasing a different version that fit his body shape better and worked more effectively.

Well made and fits my dog, who weighs 90 pounds, perfectly. It has two layers of wrapping that put a lot of pressure on the middle, which makes the dog feel safe. The fabric is light and looks like it will wash up well. I haven't needed to use this vest yet, but I'm sure it will work very well.
