LOVE!!! Effective for Plantar Fasciitis & knee pain

Reviewed in the United States on July 30, 2019 · Size: 11 Women/9 Men | Color: Black · Verified Purchase

LONG, DETAILED REVIEW: I received my OoFos recovery slides 11 days ago and have only taken them off while sleeping (and part of one day as a test) because I LOVE THEM. My feet and knees started feeling better immediately. The arch support, the shock absorption and the rocker bottom that takes pressure off the heel are everything the company says. For reference, I wear a women’s size 10.5 with an average width. I have low arches, over pronate (ankles/feet roll to the inside), have plantar fasciitis and a painful heel from stepping on a sharp rock while running. I prefer a wide toe box so my toes can spread naturally. If the toe box isn’t wide it crams my big toe into the others and quickly becomes painful (I could see that turning into

a hammer toe if not careful). The slides have a great toe box but, as everyone knows, wide toe boxes are not necessarily “pretty” in women’s shoes. Screw fashion; I need my feet to make a living and enjoy my life.

I purchased a woman’s 11 which is fine for me but probably could have done the size 10. I’t’s ok, I’d rather that they be slightly big than a little too small. I will try to include photos if that helps people make their decisions.

I already wear shoes with arch support from morning until night. I slip on shoes before getting out of bed and even wear swimmer’s sandals with arch support when I’m in the shower. Yes, that is how much foot pain I have. If I can’t be mobile I can’t work in my profession so I’ve gotta do what I can. I’ve tried rotating through different shoes while at work and for that reason I have 4 different pairs waiting on the floor at work at any given time. So the only real change I’ve made so far is that I’ve been wearing these OoFas slides instead of my regular shoes that also have good arch support. My foot pain had gotten so bad that when I get a new pair of shoes of the same brand and model that worked for me previously my feet hurt as if I’ve already worn the shoes out.

I have spent at least $850 on shoes costing $80-125 during the last 1.5 year trying to find something that can handle the abuse my feet endure by working 12-14 hours a day on concrete. I’ve been wearing these slides at work whenever possible even though they aren’t really a professional style just because I needed something and needed it fast. Previous to this the plantar fasciitis has been so excruciating that I am hobbling on and off and I cannot endure any of my usual athletic activities. My whole body is affected including my knees, hips and low back. With these shoes the PF is markedly improved already. Unbelievable. As a test I slipped my newest, most comfy running shoes on briefly on each day, stood there and took a few steps. Each time I feel my feet and knees start hurting immediately so I put the slides back on. After 1 day of wearing the slides I felt the muscles in my low back were noticeably loosening up so there has been some popping and relief in that area too.

It did take me about an hour of getting used to the arch support and lower heel. I could feel some stretching so I took it slow walking in them at first so I wouldn’t hurt myself. After that I became less focused on that and just enjoyed the shock absorption and arch support.

I know the support and shock absorption of these slides will only hold up so long, like with most athletic shoes. I use a Fitbit and log about 200 miles per month (and that’s when I’m not very active due to all this pain I’ve had). If I remember correctly, most athletic shoes should be replaced every 300 miles (that’s about 6 weeks for me) because I wear athletic shoes all day long at work so they don’t last long. So I’d be happy if these slides held up a month wearing them everyday, all day. Most people probably don’t put in as many miles as I do. To some people it might seem like $50 is a waste but in all honesty I’d spend $50 a month to deal with a lot less pain and return to my normal more active lifestyle. When I bought these I was desperate for some relief ASAP. I feel like after a couple more weeks I may be able to wear other shoes for part of the day again.

I’m waiting on some other shoes designed for PF and knee pain to arrive so I’ll continue wearing these slides from the moment I get out of bed until I hit the hay again. I’ll check back in later for an updated review.

Some things mentioned in other reviews - I personally did not notice a chemical smell with my shoes and I’m sensitive to chemicals so I would notice. I’ve not had slippage toward the front of the shoe but I’ve been wearing black athletic ankle socks with them so it’s not as obvious that I’m wearing sandals at work. LOL Even with socks I’ve had no trouble at all sliding them on but my foot isn’t wide and I do not have a high instep. I generally wear average width shoes. It does take a bit to get used to the feel of less pressure on your heel while walking or standing if you’ve never had a shoe with some degree of a rocker sole and prominent arch support. The rocker is part of how they work to relieve pain. I’ve not noticed any significant wear on the bottom but I do wear them mostly indoors and I don’t drag my feet.

Depending on your foot and joint issues they may or may not be the right shoe for you but if you are flat footed, have PF or other foot/knee/leg joint pain they are worth a try. If you experience supination (weight falls more on the outside) anything with this level of arch support and a heel drop may not be a good fit for you but it’s up to you to try. If you do a lot of lateral movements this slide might not support your heel enough during those lateral activities but that is expected...it is a slide and it’s marketed as a comfy shoe to get some relief after exercise and not for everyday wear. I know I’m not wearing mine as they were intended to be worn because I wear them all day but they are helping me so far so I’m going with it.

These OOFOS OOahh Recovery Slides are absolutely worth considering if comfort is a top priority! From the recovery-focused design to the cushioned feel, these slides are made for anyone who wants to give their feet a break after a long day.

The standout feature is the OOfoam cushioning. The soft, supportive feel makes these slides a great option for relaxing around the house, wearing after workouts, or slipping on after spending hours on your feet. The design feels comfortable without being overly complicated, and the easy slip-on style makes them convenient for everyday use.

I also appreciate the simple, versatile look. These slides are easy to wear around the house, while running quick errands, or when you just want something comfortable to put on without dealing with socks and laces. The recovery-focused design is what really sets them apart from ordinary slides.

If you're someone who spends a lot of time standing, walking, or exercising, having a comfortable pair of recovery slides can be a welcome addition to your footwear collection. OOFOS has built a reputation around comfort-focused footwear, and the OOahh slides are a popular option for good reason.

    Size accuracy

Reviewed in the United States on September 26, 2026 · Size: 9 Women/7 Men | Color: Navy · Verified Purchase

The size was good according to what I wear. They take a little getting used to maybe because of the arch or heel. Only problem for me is that they are rubber and my feet stick to them. Overall they are comfortable. I ordered the ones with straps so I can wear socks when it’s cold.

Awesome Feel For Plantar Fasciitis & Questionable Build Quality

Reviewed in the United States on October 7, 2026 · Size: 13 Women/11 Men | Color: Slate · Verified Purchase

Giving the OOFOS OOahh Recovery Slides (size 11 - Men - Gray) a 4 star ⭐⭐⭐⭐ review for mostly good qualities, and one obviously questionable.

The PROS: I have plantar fasciitis with high arches and some heel pain, and was looking for a recovery slide for days off or time before working as a chef. These ticked the boxes for my search, even if they're the most expensive non-leather sandals Ive ever bought. The foot bed has medium-high arches and a nice cupped heel area, which feels nice combined with how the curved shape of the bottom of the slide rocks your foot gently forward when stepping. They are a medium firm sandal, especially towards the middle, which makes the foot bed not give too much when stepping. I'm a size 11 US in Men's in all my shoes, and these sandals fit true to size and don't slide off my foot. The grooves in the tread on the bottom are quite deep, so I feel these might last me a while, but can't speak to the overall durability quite yet. Lastly, for such a thick, moderately stiff sandal, they're see still pretty lightweight and not hard on the feet. In the short period I've had them, I have noticed decreased pain while walking first thing in the morning and barefoot in my house.

The CONS: For specialized $60 sandals, the build quality is a 7/10. The sandals had little plastic "hairs" of untrimmed mold pieces in several parts of the sandals (shoe mold for manufacturing, not actual organic mold). They're easy to pull off and not stiff, but it was not expected after so many people raved about the quality of these sandals. Not the biggest deal, and only took a minute to take off by hand, but I'm taking a star off the review for questionable quality / factory QC. The last con is that they look kinda ugly, but I knew that when I ordered them.

Overall I'd likely recommend these to a friend with my same conditions.

    Excellent support, foot sole sweat

Reviewed in the United States on August 23, 2026 · Size: 10 Women/8 Men | Color: Black · Verified Purchase

I was suffering from cuboid pain and this slide has eased the pain to almost nonexistent. It has firm but cushioned arch and lateral support. Think of it as standing on a semi-squishy stress ball. It has the support of a Dansko clog, but with comfort & cushion.

These are made with closed-cell foam, so you can wash them in the sink and it will NOT absorb water like a sponge. You can shake them almost dry or use a towel. Since it doesn’t absorb moisture, your feet can become quite sweaty if you’re barefoot. You might want to wear socks with this material. There is NO breathability for the sole of your foot. Wear socks, powder, or slide your foot out once in a while to air out. I thought about taking a star off for this, but nah. You can work around it. The support & comfort are worth it.

Doesn't work well for wide feet or high arches

Reviewed in the United States on September 25, 2026 · Size: 10 Women/8 Men | Color: Black · Verified Purchase

The shoes came quickly and overall and decently satisfied with them. I think most of my problems come from my foot shape, not the shoe. I have wide feet with very high arches and this shoe does not have an adjustable strap so it's very difficult to get my foot in the shoe. The very first night the small piece of plastic between the two straps snapped. It doesn't cause a problem with me wearing them because I only use them in the house. On a good note, I use a little vitamin e under the back side of the straps to slide my foot in and the shoe is very comfortable. I have severe plantar fasciitis that is not responsive for over a year so I'm using these shoes to pad my feet when I have to walk to the bathroom at night or padding around the house in my pajamas and they work fairly well to allow my feet to heal a little bit. So if you have normal arches and feet that are not wide and your feet are sore, then I recommend this shoe. If you're like me with wide feet, or high arches I would recommend you look elsewhere. I will not be getting a second pair but will have to find something similar with an adjustable strap.

A Absolute Life Changer for Flat Feet!

Reviewed in the United States on September 8, 2026 · Size: 9 Women/7 Men | Color: Slate · Verified Purchase

I cannot recommend these OOFOS slides enough! I have completely flat feet, and my podiatrist specifically recommended that I get a pair of these to help with my foot pain. It has been an absolute life changer. They provide the exact structural arch support I need, which is incredibly hard to find in a slide or sandal. They are so comfortable that they have become my everyday slipper. I wear them constantly—whether I am walking around the house, running quick errands, or recovering after a long day on my feet. They go wherever I go.If you have flat feet or need serious arch support, do yourself a favor and buy these immediately!

Must have foot and heel pain!

Reviewed in the United States on September 23, 2026 · Size: 10 Women/8 Men | Color: Black · Verified Purchase

A life saver! I’m 43 and recently got back into working out. So, about two months ago I started having heel pain. I didn’t think much of it and can’t afford a doctor anyway, so I just ignored it. The pain kept getting worse, and I started decreasing my time on the treadmill. Icing it. Taking days off from the gym, etc. but it just kept getting worse… I started buying random things on Amazon for foot and heel pain. Nothing was working. Did a deep dive into my exact location of foot pain. This is a very severe bone bruise caused by degradation of my heel fat pad, at the very least. And apparent I’ve been re-injury it every time I stepped on the ground. As of two weeks ago, I was barely walking, the pain is excruciating. I did some research and found these. My toe to heel is 9.5 inches, I usually wear a 9-1/2, I ordered the size 10, perfect fit. And oh my god, the difference is night and day. I still can’t stand still for too long, I’m still walking carefully, but I’m not hobbling and limping. It’s about an 85% improvement. If you’re pain is at this level, don’t push your luck and just let your weight bare down even in these slides. Nothing, at least over the counter, is THAT good. I’m still having to keep my walking in short bursts, and shifting my weight to the other side when standing still, and if I’m doing anything that takes more than a few minutes, I find a way to do it sitting. Hopefully getting insurance in a few months so I can see a doctor. To those of you in my position? These are worth EVERY PENNY. High quality, nice color, and I would say very versatile. Can be worn with or without socks, strap on heel pads for extra cushion, and I even wore them in the shower.
