I was looking for a tank top to wear as a base layer under dresses and shirts that were too low cut for me, as I did not want my cleavage hanging out. I landed on these tank tops. This a set of 2 very nice quality, soft camisoles. The fabric is soft to the touch and thin, but still opaque enough to give good coverage. The thinness of the material is just what I was looking for because I wanted to wear this under a Summer dress, which does not leave a lot of room for bulky items underneath. The camisoles are tailored to fit the figure closely, as one would wish for in an under layer.

The camisoles are quality items, with double sewn seams that are straight and well put together. They are like wearing a second skin. The camisoles are 96% cotton (SO hard to find these days!) and 4% elastane for a bit of a stretch. This blend of materials is just rightful comfort and looks. The spaghetti straps stay nicely in place and I don’t have trouble with them falling down on my shoulders.

Being made of cotton, I wash these in cold, gentle cycle, and then hang them to dry.

I’m not entirely sure why these are priced as high as they are. They’re marketed as Egyptian cotton, and to be fair, once washed and dried they do feel very soft. Before washing, though, the fabric felt oddly slick—almost like pantyhose—which was unexpected.

I wear tanks under almost everything, usually Maidenform Fat Free tanks that offer some light shaping. These FALKE tanks don’t provide any smoothing or compression, but I didn’t expect them to. They’re clearly meant to be lightweight, stretchy layering pieces rather than slimming tanks.
