Arlo Ultra Wireless Security Camera 4K HDR (3rd Gen) - 3-Cam + SmartHub

I’ve been genuinely impressed with this security system so far. The setup process was much easier than I expected, and the app is very user-friendly. I love being able to check multiple camera views directly from my phone and receive smart alerts for people, motion, vehicles, and even animals.

The video quality during both daytime and nighttime is really clear, and the night vision especially surprised me. The spotlight feature, two-way audio, and instant snapshot option are also very useful.

One of my favorite things is how connected it makes me feel to my home even when I’m away. Overall, this system feels premium, reliable, and thoughtfully designed. Definitely a 5-star experience for me so far.

I have recently installed the Arlo camera system at my home and have been genuinely impressed by both the hardware and the overall ecosystem.

The cameras are well built, discreet, and easy to position. Video quality is consistently sharp, both during the day and at night, and the spotlight and night vision work reliably when required. Motion detection is sensitive and accurate, and with Arlo Secure enabled, the smart detection features (person, animal, vehicle) are particularly useful and well implemented.

The Arlo app is intuitive and comprehensive. While there is a learning curve due to the depth of settings available, this is ultimately a strength rather than a weakness. Notifications, lighting behaviour, and detection rules can be finely tuned to suit different households and preferences. Once properly configured, the system runs quietly and reliably in the background.

I also appreciate the flexibility of the subscription model. The Secure plan adds meaningful value without feeling mandatory, and recordings are easy to review and manage.

Overall, this is a thoughtfully designed and dependable security solution that balances advanced features with everyday usability. I would not hesitate to recommend Arlo to anyone looking for a serious, well-engineered home camera system.

I bought this system of three cameras and the base station back in June with the intent of seeing if it would meet my needs for keeping an eye on the house when I was on vacation or traveling for work. I was pleasantly surprised with the battery life and the ability to place some cameras indiscriminately around the house added two more cameras, even had one which was replaced through customer service, which were incredible people for sure. But after being out of town for two weeks and the issues I had, when I got back I canceled my free subscription to the cloud and various video saving options. I got a call from TechSupport wanting to know if they couldn't work out some of the issues I had, which most of them we did. They told me that they would comp me the coming month as I spent the last month being their beta tester. Evidently, the billing dept. didn't get the memo, and of course I was charged, which was only $15. But in reality, I shouldn't have to pay to them to Beta test the system to the point where it just barely delivered as advertised.

So if you're looking for actual security and viability to record whats going on at home, I'd look elsewhere. Even now, I can't get this thing to switch from home armed to standby at sunrise or sunset, and it's a bit ridiculous. So it begs the question, is this system just too technical for my capabilities? I worked Apple retail for nine years. I consider myself pretty tech savvy. This system is just lacking some depth. that I shouldn't have to pay to develop. I did so want to like this system.

Update: Now that my paid cloud storage and a good share of the features are inaccessible, I am now getting adds telling me i need to pick a subscription and these are the ones I just cancelled?! I contacted customer service and stated that they were taking 20+% of my prime real estate on the main control & camera viewing area; never guess what these "geniuses" said? "Oh right, you can just ignore it" 😳. Well, I never thought of that! 😑 powered down, and took down the system. Remove another star....

I’m not exactly sure what the other reviews are talking about because i had absolutely no issues installing these and got everything expected. The battery life is like 3 weeks and to charge it all you have to do is take off the magnetic base without any tools and just set it on the charger for the night. Which was my BIGGEST downfall with blink. Those cameras were extremely hard to put back on as was a massive hassle that I just let them run dead and sit. Another thing is the app is absolutely a million times better and I don’t get that annoying notification of “still watching?” Every 15 seconds. As for the camera quality crystal clear and able to zoom in on faces. I also love the perk of the extra security little add ons they offer of carbon monoxide and shots fired as I’m so paranoid and constantly assume the worst while I’m away and my dog is left alone inside. Thank you Arlo so much 😭

Cameras work great. Go offline quite a bit. Could be because of my wifi thought.

SI love it. You get notifications when someone is within the perimeter of the cameras view. It will identify a peson, animal or movement. I have mine on the cloud so I can go back and review if needed. Two are on magnets and two need to be drilled in. I prefer the magnet. Yes it's strong enough. Battery life has gone past 30 days a lot

So, this is a good product overall, and it does add some great features to a given security system, but these guys have been plagued with "Camera off line," and "Router off line" alerts over the last several years! It happens about every day to me, and yes, all the newest upgraded software, high-end starlink, no other problems in the system, newest cell phone... yadda, yadda, yadda, and these guys can't seem to figure out the problem... lots of exact and similar complaints, so be prepared for some frustration if you buy this system.
