Full Review:
We knew before our son was born that we wanted a camera for our vehicle. Before we had it installed, I actually rode in the back seat while my husband drove so someone could always keep an eye on our rear-facing baby. That worked for the first few trips, but it obviously wasn’t a long-term solution.
Installation was very simple and only took a few minutes. Once everything was mounted and connected, the camera immediately provided a clear, crisp view of our baby.
One thing we decided to do differently was skip permanently attaching the monitor to our dashboard or windshield. Instead, we paired it with this folding GPS dashboard mount.

It lets the monitor sit securely on top of the dash without leaving adhesive behind, and when we’re not using it, the mount folds flat for easy storage. It has worked extremely well for our setup.
My husband was driving once everything was installed, and he immediately commented on how natural the monitor’s position felt. From the driver’s seat, he could quickly glance over, immediately recognize what our baby was doing, and then return his attention to the road. When our baby made noises, he didn’t have to guess what was happening. He could quickly see whether our son simply needed his pacifier, was stretching, or actually needed our attention.
We can clearly see our son’s mouth, which is great for keeping an eye on spit-up moments and coughing moments to quickly determine whether he needs our attention.
The picture quality has exceeded our expectations, and the monitor gives us peace of mind every time we’re on the road. It has made traveling with a rear-facing infant much less stressful.
We have been so happy with this camera that we’ll be installing a second one in our Toyota RAV4 soon, so we’ll have the same setup available in both of our vehicles.
⭐ Overall Thoughts:
This has become one of our favorite baby purchases for the car. The combination of simple installation, excellent image quality, and the ability to quickly check on our son without turning around has made every drive more comfortable. I would absolutely purchase this again.
I tried to cover the details I wish I had when I was deciding, so it’s easier to figure out if this fits your setup and how you plan to use it.
🔄 Update: Installed on Our Second Vehicle (2014 Toyota RAV4)
After using this camera in one of our vehicles, we purchased a second one for our 2014 Toyota RAV4, and the installation went just as smoothly.
Since the RAV4 only has one factory USB-A port and one 12V charging outlet in the front of the vehicle, I routed power neatly to the back seat using a USB extension setup.
I ran the cable under the front passenger-side floor liner, under the passenger seat, and then under the rear floor liner before bringing it up to the rear-facing car seat.
I intentionally chose a cable that was a little longer than necessary. I probably could have used a shorter one, but the extra length let me route the connections into protected areas where people aren’t likely to step on them. It also leaves enough slack that if the cable is accidentally pulled or stepped on, it won’t put unnecessary strain on the USB connections.
Once everything reached the back seat, I bundled the extra camera cable to the side of the rear headrest and tucked it underneath the headrest strap. This removed the remaining slack, kept the cable secure, and gave the installation a much cleaner appearance.
The second installation has worked just as well as the first, and we’re still very happy with this camera system.
